Pilot Confectionery Shortening
Hot Tips
Pilot confectionery Shortening's high coconut content and strong, white appearance make it a superior product for chocolate extension, cold-set slices and good old chocolate crackles that won't crumble.
Melt Pilot Confectionery Shortening over low heat or in a microwave.
If coating slices with chocolate, bring the slice back to room temperature before pouring the chocolate on top for a better result.
Pilot Utility Shortening
Hot Tips
When making pie bases and cases, use a ratio of 25%-30% of Pilot Utility Shortening to flour weight (eg. 1 kg shortening to 4kg flour).
Mix the shortening through the flour before adding the water: This will ensure the flour is coated with shortening and delivers an excellent result.

Icing mixture 800grs

Place all dry ingredients into a mixing bowl blend together on 1st speed. Add cherries and chopped apricots. Melt down the Pilot Confectionery Shortening over a low heat or the microwave then pour into the mixing bowl. Bring all together on 1st speed for 2mins. Spread over a greaseproof-papered tray. Press down well into the tray, refrigerate.
COCONUT ICE SLICE
Icing Mixture 3628 grs
Coconut 1814 grs
Milk Powder 76 grs
Pilot Confectionery Shortening 453 grs
Water 600 mls
Coconut 1814 grs

Mix all together on 1st speed
Place half of the mix into a full double-ended tray.
Then mix the remaining mixture with a small amount of pink colour. Then place on top of the white mixture, which is spread over the full tray.

Purina Kornie Cornflakes 400 grs

Icing Sugar 960 grs
Mango Topping 400 grs
Pilot Confectionery Shortening 1.200 grs
Coconut 480 grs

Place all dry ingredients into a mixing bowl, blend together on 1st speed. Add Mango Topping. Melt down the Pilot Confectionery Shortening over a low heat or the microwave then pour into mixing bowl. Bring all together on 1st speed for 2 mins.
